A milestone chart
serves to indicate both schedule and relationship of all (pertinent)
activities pertaining to implementation, and helps to isolates potential
problem areas. It also serves as a means to list the goals that support
implementation, and to note when these have been. Or should be,
accomplished. Various forms of milestone charts and supporting methodologies
have been developed including :
 |
PERT (Program
Evaluation Review Technique ) |
 |
CPM (Critical
Path Method ) |
 |
GERT (Graphical
Evaluation Review Technique ) |
 |
VERT (Venture
Evaluation Review Technique) |
In essence, each
of these approaches attempts to systematically represent the network of
activities required to complete a project.
